Drink Table (Via Green Wedding Shoes)

What a cute cute cute drink table. Yes there are pancakes too but *squeal.* Really nice design. From a design standpoint you have the two vertices on each side to frame the scene. Then you have the shortest stuff on the edge and you work in to the tallest with the flowers kind of on an edge so that it's not totally symmetrical. I like that it uses one vase of flowers only but instead uses other elements (including the drinks themselves) as part of what makes it colorful and visually interesting. Rentals!

Guess what?! There will be hot food at our wedding! There may not be tables on which to put hot food but we have the receipt in hand for serving trays of all sorts including the largest salad bowl I have ever set my eyes on. Rock!

***UPDATE***
Rentals are a bit less exciting (a bit more overwhelming) when they come with a $1300 price tag. But we're one step closer to having chairs!

The internet is magical.

I Googled tonight "How large a site for 200 people," and got a lot of results for food. I like that stuff like this exists. This so far is my favorite. Ellen's Kitchen.

Here she talks about salad (2nd question down).

Here's a food plan for 100 people.

And of course she has a wedding section.

Kind of incredible.

Aaaand this is how much space we'll need. Hmmmm.....

How To Eat a Cupcake (in four easy steps)

This is wedding related b/c you know what's often at a wedding? Cupcakes! I'm generally not a huge fan of the gloriously cute desert and while mostly it's because of the flavor*, it's at least a little in part b/c it's a messy little monster. Enter very smart woman Beth, who I just met at a New Years Coast weekend. (I will also be stealing her couscous recipe.)

1. Cupcake!
2. Take off the wrapper. You're not an animal.
3. Twist the top cupcake portion off and flip over.
4. Squish it down into the bottom.

THIS way you have something to hold so you don't get as sticky. Second, the frosting won't go up your nose when you bite into it. Third, this method redistributes the frosting more evenly throughout the cake so you don't end up alternating between between mouthfuls of pure frosting and pure, slightly dry cake.

*Z's Mom cooks cupcakes pretty often, and her cupcakes are teaching me to actually really like cupcakes. But it's getting to that point where I'll look at a cupcake and think, "Did Pam cook this? No? Then no thank you b/c sometimes you can't go back."

Lights Under Table (by Gourmet)

This is really really pretty idea. Lights under the table cloth. Yay!

Note on the gourmet article: They have a link off to Czech Kolaches!! I lived in Slovakia for a year during high school and I fell in love with the Slovak Kolac, which is basically the same thing. Makes me really happy every time I see anything from this are of the world mentioned.

Cheese! (via Style Me Pretty)

I looove the idea of a cheese bar. I don't know why. I mean, I like cheese but no more than let's say chocolate or diet coke. (It'd be kind of funny to have a diet coke bar.) Actually I like the idea of having mini cheese bars on every table. Something for people to snack on while they are waiting for food.

Here is the awesome cheese bar from Sarah Matteson's wedding via Style Me Pretty.
