Dessert Party

You're invited to a dessert party. First you'll get a pretty invitation in the mail. Then when you walk in, you'll get a boutonniere flag so you won't have to guess at peoples' names because we all forget them as soon as a new person says them. (Seriously, new rule: Talk bulk first THEN introduce ourselves!) Then when we've all chatted for awhile, we'll head into dessert time. And OK, maybe we have just a few too many snacks, but I think we'll all be happy to take home a dessert bag.

Program/Bout (via Once Wed)

I'm now obviously thinking about programs and boutonnieres (DAMN YOU FRENCH SPELLING.) These images are from Alix Klingenberg Photography of Sarah and Israel's wedding. I've seen some lovely wedding photography perusing the blogs, but I have never seen someone catch the moments quite like Alix. I know the couple must just be this way, but the photograph of Israel putting the ring on Sarah's finger or them looking at each other as the walk down the isle. You know, who cares about anything else when you have that.

Programs (by Cynthia and Michael via Oh So Beautiful Paper)

These are the closest thing I've found to our own idea. Yay! Note the corners. Yay for detail work!

Hello Possibilities

So the excitement is back. Maybe it's that we head home tomorrow, and I can feel myself switching gears. The Rocky music is beginning to play, and I'm suddenly very motivated to make giant letters out of cardboard. Er, or such things as that. Watch out living room.

Next week is the last week I have free before going into rehearsals for a local theater show. Suddenly 4 nights a week, until the beginning to December, I'm off the time market. The other nights I'm trying to catch up with laundry and life. It's sort of an intense time, but it's something I absolutely love. It also does an incredible job of streamlining my life. Because I have such limited time, I'm better about being organized.

That said, this coming week is dedicated to things like sleep and exercise AND finishing the save the dates (envelopes too?) I think it can be done, and I'm excited to try.

Folded Inspiration

I can't find the original source to this image so I'm not posting it, but it did make me think how cool it could be to have a pamphlet-style wedding program.

Programs (by Hello Tenfold)

As the Save the Dates are wrapping up (TONIGHT!!! <---sorry, have I totally bored you by this? I'm literally going to do hour by hour updates once I get home. Just to keep my brain from freezing. Must.Flight. Hulu.)... New sentence: As StheDates are wrapping up my brain wanders to other papery projects like Invitations and Programs. One program design element is how the paper is held together. I love the side hole punch and ribbon solution in these HelloTenfold programs.

See another example of the same cool design here.

Save the Date concept (by Decoder Ring)

I love the simple design of this business card done by the Decoder Ring design group. Could translate really well into a Save the Date or something inside an invitation. Maybe the front of a program? All sorts of things.

Ribbon Programs (by Laura and Ben)

I like programs with ribbons up the side. Just saying.

These are from a super fun wedding of Laura and Ben featured in Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine.

Trinh Vu, Izabela Pluta, Matthew Perkins: catalogue

This is the catalogue from an exhibition of three Australian artists (Trinh Vu, Izabela Pluta, Matthew Perkins). I find that catalogues from art shows are often beautiful in their own right. I love the front page being smaller than what's behind it. Really allows the pattern to shine.
