Hurrah Cards on Store Bought Cards

Most of the thank you cards I stenciled onto trimmed, 12x12 craft paper. However, when I was cleaning out my card file I realized what I really should be doing is stenciling onto pretty store bought cards I already owned. I have a bad (good?) habit of picking up sale items in craft and stationary stores. I have more than I need. This is a great way to use them! I must remember this for upcoming holiday cards.

Thank You Cards

Martha Stewart Weddings says that if you want to follow proper etiquette, you should thank someone for a gift within two weeks. This seems like an odd standard. It means that couples are expected to spend their honeymoon writing thank yous. As a guest at a wedding, I don't want my friends spending a single second of their honeymoon thinking of me or some waffle iron I bought them. Silliness!

Couch Card (by Me)

Here's the card I made for Marc and Lin's wedding. I have a bad tendency to panic in the face of wedding cards. But slowly (slowly) I'm getting better at this. In this case with Z's help because he lovingly reminded me that I normally panic a day before we leave. Plus Marc and Lin made it easy b/c as soon as I saw their registry couch I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

Cards for the Guys (by me)

I made this card for my Dad's birthday, but I think it'd be a nice card for a male friend who's getting married or for the groomsmen as part of our notes to them.

I came up with the card after thinking about using stickers like Hello Tenfold. Originally the bowtie was going to be on the outside but the shirt felt like it was missing something. The buttons solved that.

This is a fun place to start for future, more elaborate, designs.

Vellum Design (by Hello Tenfold)

Vellum is a really tricky material. On the one hand, it's awesome. It has a nice feel and gives a very romantic, mysterious vibe. That said, the bugger is impossible to stick down, you know, because it's a bit transparent. So if you glue it to anything you see the glue. This is why this Hello Tenfold design (I love Hello Tenfold) is genius. Use it for the mystery...and then leave it alone.

Promo Cards (via Element)

OK, I'm not even totally what these cards from Element are for but I love them! It's got the wrap around design that's so in right now. But I love how it's put together. Seems like it's a great business card design (which it may be promotion for their firm) or just a note that says hello. You could also put in an image of the groom carrying the bride in all their dressy glory and it could be a thank you card.

Brought to You By the Letter N (by A Creative Mint)

Seeing this letter over at Decor8 and ACreativeMint, I just keep thinking about it. I think it'd be beautiful as a card but also as a garland. Make a bunch of Z&Ks or Z+Ks and string them together. Or a HappyHappyHappy banner. Cutting letters can be the most annoying thing in the world. But often worth it. :)

How cool to open up an envelope and see something like this? Cards as pockets!!

Also this would just be a cool card to get. The happy birthday letter or note or whatever would just be slipped into the pocket and the person could use it again.
