The World Needs More Sugar Hearts

There is a world where every dessert has a heart on it. (Follow the Wedding Chicks link to see the wedding cake using these bad boys.) I make a promise to you. Next Valentine's Day, there shall be sugar cookies with sugar hearts.

PS- Wouldn't "The Sugar Hearts" be the best band name ever?! Any takers? Hmmm?!

If pretty took physical form is would look like this. And if I were a rich girl, all of my friends would have one of these in their closets. Also, if this was anywhere *near* by soon-to-be married sister's style, she'd have one wrapped up in beautiful white tissue paper. :)

I use to think in terms of favors. OK, I still mostly due. But now that my sister is getting married, I think in terms of gifts one gives a friend who's getting married. The best gift is help (check) but something shiny never hurt either.

Invitation Book (by IceCreamSocial)

These are the incredible work of the amazing Ice Cream Social. Their work is some of my favorite. This would be a really cool gift for a bride or someone for their birthday. Create a sleeve at the edge for sliding in dates. Option 2 is to have 12 pockets. Each pocket would represent a month and you could give the book with the pages full of cards and birthday dates. A sleeve in the front would hold stamps. A place to hold the cards and the time line for sending them.

Z and I have started our life as wedding guests. In a way, it's nice that we had our wedding more or less at the beginning. We will be much better guests because of it. But it also allows us to think about what kind of things we would have liked as gifts (not that we did gifts...but you get the idea.)

These Jessica Hische prints pop up as a great possibility. Or they'd be a nice bridal shower gift. Anything really. You can't go wrong with a beautiful letter (or two.)

(I think it would be cool to make these, put them in a box and send them to bridal party and mothers post wedding. Instead of a name it would just say, "Congratulations!"  And it would be for having survived the wedding. :)

Some day Zach is going to get something like this for an anniversary or a birthday. For some reason it struck me as totally strange that some day we will actually have another thing to celebrate like an anniversary. A holiday I never knew existed but suddenly will.

Lemoncello!

Liquors have begun! And by begun I mean Z bought 2 cases of vodka last night and 30 lemons. And many many many cups of sugar.

I peeled 3 stickers off lemons. And then I went to bed. I woke up to see a giant bottle sitting on our counter full of future delicious. It's like magic.

Candy Boxes (by me)

This wasn't for a wedding but it could be. I made these little candy boxes as part of the thank yous for a show I was recently in. It was called "String of Pearls" and had a cast of 6 women. Notice how each box is wearing felt pearls. While these went to the crew of the show, but they could just as easily be gifts for bridesmaids. All my bridesmaids are getting at this point is stiff hands from cutting things out!

Doily Tote (by Ashley Ann)

Yay for doilies! So feminine. So pretty. So useful as stencils. This is a cool tutorial from Ashely Ann by way of Design*Sponge.

Also, I should note that Ashley Ann's blog is super cool. Check out her DIY category here. I think this plate project could come in really handy as a wedding decoration. I could find white small plates at Goodwill and do this. Oh damn. I may have to go do this right now.
