chandelier (by Brides.com)

If a chandelier (or rather I should say, "chandelier") was far away, would anyone notice if it was made of cardboard or foam core? I mean obviously it wouldn't have lights but it could still have shimmering beads?

Over at Brides.com they have a design and they tell you go find a friend who can cut it out of wood. And yes, wood (even a cheap thin wood would be ideal) but wouldn't foam core also work? (Work-ish?)
